The Live Music Scene in Ridgeland

All over the world, Mississippi is known as being the birthplace of American music. The blues were born here and influenced other genres from rock 'n' roll to country to jazz. It's fair to say that when you're in Mississippi, you can't go far without hearing some great music. So what's the live music scene in Ridgeland? For the ultimate vacation-vibes with small-town charm, check out the Blue Bar. Located in the upstairs area of Crab's Seafood Shack, the Blue Bar overlooks the beautiful waters of the Barnett Reservoir. Enjoy live music every Thursday-Sunday featuring some of Ridgeland's local favorites. Blue Bar also features a happy hour from 5-6:30PM Thurs-Sun and late-night specials Thurs-Sat 10PM-midnight. Photography isn't all Ron Blaylock has an eye for. Good music and good times are his strong-suit as well. Enjoy Hump Day Happy Hours at Blaylock Photography Studio every Wednesday from 5-7PM. This event features drink specials from M7 Coffee House and Whirl Smoothie Bar along with craft beer available for purchase.

located in The Township at Colony Park, Fusion Coffeehouse realizes that a lot of people feel intimidated and confused when staring at a coffee menu. So they created a coffee shop where friendly baristas help regular people discover their perfect coffee drink - without confusing lingo and high prices.

Established in 2003, this locally-owned restaurant also serves locally roasted coffee beans and a tasty lunch menu. They host monthly live jazz performances at their Jazz Spot. Check out the events page on their website or Facebook for the best jazz music in Ridgeland. The owners of Fusion Coffeehouse are the brains and brawn behind the annual Township Jazz Festival.

Known for their prime rib and variety of redfish entrees, Kathryn's has been a local favorite for over 25 years. Kathryn's is famous for their deep fried rolls so be sure to try one (or two!) Their cozy lounge provides a venue for nightly entertainment.

Pop over to their Facebook page to see daily specials and what band is playing. Located on Old Canton Road and opens Monday-Saturday at 4:00PM and Sunday at 11:00AM for brunch.

Sleek and sophisticated meets a laid-back lifestyle at AC Hotel Jackson Ridgeland. More than just a place to lay your head at night, AC brings a lot to the table. Not a hotel guest? No worries, everyone is welcome to enjoy The AC Lounge which features small shareable plates and handcrafted cocktails.

Newest to the menu is their Third Thursday events featuring live music performances and drink specials such as $6 "Too Cool for School" cocktail and $2 off AC Signature Cocktails. Stop by on the third Thursday of every month from 5-7PM!

McB's has been rockin' the Rez since 1982 in its casual digs on Lake Harbour Drive. With live music on the weekends and karaoke on Tuesday and Thursdays, it's easy to get your groove on at McB's. They offer a daily blue plate lunches and you can't go wrong with one of their famous Wine Burgers and homemade fries. Ask for half fries and half onion rings; your tastebuds will thank you.

Oh, and did we mention that sports fans will love their 11 HDTVs? And on Sundays enjoy their awesome Bloody Mary bar. Check out their specials and events on their Facebook page.

With live music seven days a week, Pelican Cove offers up a continuous stream of local and regional talent. Feel like you're on vacation anytime at this local hot spot for boaters. You can sit on the spacious wooden deck and view the boats on beautiful Barnett Reservoir or dine inside in air-conditioned comfort. Need to cool off? Then try their signature frozen concoction the Pink Pelican.

Pelican Cove is also home to the Rockin' the Rez Concert Series sponsored by 96.3 Country radio. From time to time, they bring in top national country music artists. Check out The Pelican's event calendar on their website and stay in touch with them on Facebook to see who's playing when.

Just across the road from the Rez, you'll find Ridgeland's spot for raw oysters and other Gulf Coast seafood. With live music most nights, it's been a frequent Best of Jackson Finalist and Winner for Best Place to Dance, Best Live Music Venue and Best Oysters.

On the weekends, Shucker's has bands indoors on the dance floor and on the outdoor covered deck. Shucker's also has pool tables. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for all their latest specials.

A soulful slice of the South for your ears and your mouth. First established down the road in Flowood, Mississippi in 2001 by “Brother” Chris Sartin, Soulshine Pizza Factory offers a diverse array of gourmet pizzas, calzones, oven-baked sandwiches and savory salads with a soulful, Delta twist.
