Trails, Parks and Cycling
Let's Get Some Fresh Air
Ridgeland is Mississippi's premier destination for cycling. And not just because we're on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Multi-use walking and biking trails, BMX tracks and cycling events roll into our bike-friendly culture. But the fun isn't just for those on two wheels. We've got plenty of parks for jogging, walking and sports.
Bike Your Park Day 2020
All levels of cyclists, especially families, are invited to celebrate Bike Your Park Day 2020, a national holiday dedicated to exploring national and local parks on two wheels. Ridgeland is lucky to have a national park right in our backyard, the Natchez Trace Parkway! This free event will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Pavilion at Old Trace Park.
Natchez Trace Century Ride - New Date for 2020!
The new date for the annual Natchez Trace Century Ride will be October 10, 2020! This event which draws over 700 cyclists to Ridgeland usually kicks off the spring cycling season; however, this year due to COVID-19 the ride has been rescheduled for later in the year.
With your choice of distances from 8, 25, 50, 62, 67 and 100 miles with mild to moderate elevation, it is a great ride to find your stride. There will be “energizer” stops, food and hands-on fun every 10-15 miles.
Parks and Fields
Ridgeland is home to several parks and fields for cookouts, camping, hiking, jogging, team sports & more. Come on out and play.
Natchez Trace Parkway
Outdoor sports and recreational opportunities abound in Ridgeland with its convenient location on the Natchez Trace Parkway National Park, and along the north shore banks of the Reservoir.
