Girlfriend Getaway
Need some time with the girls to fill your cup? Well, a weekend in Ridgeland is the perfect place to enjoy great food and drinks, get in a little shopping, do some fun exercises, get some fresh air, and most importantly, spend quality time with those besties who make your heart feel so good.
Where to Stay
Ridgeland offers a variety of hotels with suites so you and the girls can all bunk together. Conveniently located adjacent to the fabulous shopping and dining at The Township at Colony Park is Embassy Suites by Hilton, Springhill Suites by Marriott, and Towne Place Suites by Marriott. You’ll find any of these hotels a stylish and comfortable place to stay with enough room for all your luggage and shopping bags.
After checking into your hotel, take a short stroll over to Sombra Mexican Kitchen for cocktail hour with an amazing flight of margaritas made with fresh-squeezed lime juice and organic agave nectar. A couple of our favorite margaritas are the Mississippi Margarita made with Cathead Honeysuckle and the St. Rita made with St. Germaine. Sombra also creates outstanding white and red sangrias. If you stay here for dinner, you can’t go wrong with their Flagship Tamale Platter featuring three pulled chicken tamales or try the Black Bean & Goat Cheese Tamale.
What to Do
The next day, start the morning off right with some healthy moves at The Pilates Studio of Ridgeland or a class at M Theory Yoga. Or get some fresh air and take a morning walk, jog or bike ride on Ridgeland’s multi-use trails. Ridgeland has a network of paved trails located within the boundaries of the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway and offshoots leading to shops and other businesses.
A girl’s trip has to include some shopping of course! You can walk to some great boutiques at The Township at Colony Park. You’ll find Hemline offering stylishly luxurious fashions along with other favorites like Arco Avenue for shoes and accessories, and Frolic Boutique for the latest trends. To refresh yourselves from all that trying on clothes, stop in at Kale Me Crazy or Fusion Coffeehouse. And if you’re lucky you may be able to catch one of Fusion Coffeehouse’s monthly live jazz sessions.

What to Eat
Venture out for casual dinner by the beautiful Barnett Reservoir at Pelican Cove Grill. The Pelican is a local hot spot with live bands on most nights. You’ll enjoy waterside dining on the back deck. We recommend the Royal Reds for the best boiled shrimp around. And if you’re in the mood for a refreshing frozen drink, then go for their namesake concoction a Pink Pelican.
The next morning, enjoy a great breakfast at Another Broken Egg Café at Renaissance at Colony Park. And while you’re at Renaissance, you’ll find more great local boutiques like Libby Story, Material Girls and more.
There’s more than just clothes shopping in Ridgeland. Check out the awesome antique shops and resale shops on the Ridgeland Retail Trail.
