Event Details

Glass enameling is the ancient art of melting fine powdered glass to metal. The focus will be enameling on copper using an electric kiln. Instruction will include several techniques: such as dry sifting, counter enameling, sgraffito, stencils, stamps, glass beads, wafers, threads, decals.

Tools and supplies will be provided. Everyone will leave class with several pieces of work, including a pendant, earrings, small wall piece, bowl/dish. Students are also welcome to bring their own small copper pieces suitable for kiln fire enameling.

The class structure will be casual. You need only to bring your desire to learn, imagination, and work apron (if desired).

Fee: $120, all materials provided

Beginner-Intermediate experience

Maximum class size is 6 students
