Renaissance Euro Fest

Euro Fest at Renaissance at Colony Park on October 12, 2019

The cars don’t race at Euro Fest, but the pulses surely do. In fact, consider it Mission Impossible: Just start your stroll through these gorgeous vintage automobiles and motorbikes, and you’ll find it impossible to keep your excitement from kicking into higher gear.

And so for those who aren’t already revved up about fall, here’s news sure to turn on and turn up the thrills: The 11th annual Renaissance Euro Fest Classic European Auto and Motorcycle Show in Renaissance at Colony Park is coming Saturday, October 12th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Not surprisingly, for auto enthusiasts Euro Fest is a once-a-year shot of pure adrenalin and adoration. However, the allure and style of these classic European vehicles have made this annual event a must-have experience for people of all tastes and ages. This year, over 15,000 spectators are expected to attend (and make their pulses race).

And that’s not really surprising, either. For a century, European automobiles and cycles have been admired and beloved throughout the world, and certainly the classics represented at this year’s Euro Fest are some of the most beautiful ever made. Imagine the elegant gleaming curves of the vintage Rolls Royce and the Daimler; the seductively sleek lines of the Ferrari, the Porsche and the Jaguar; the irresistible charm of the Alfa Romeo; the austere grace of a classic Land Rover. Of course, German brilliance will also be handsomely represented by classic models of Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen. Classic cycles will include Norton, Royal Enfield and the handmade sculptural masterpieces of Ducati. These classics aren’t merely machines; they are truly works of art and include only models manufactured before 1995, or rare, limited or special interest models.

Both quality and quantity promise to be superb at this year’s event, with more than 150 models expected, manufactured in five different countries, and arriving from 10 different states.

While Euro Fest is officially slated from 10 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, the event will begin unofficially for entrants on Friday, October 11, with an optional drive departing from New Orleans and Memphis and culminating in a Renaissance Rally Drive which will begin on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Renaissance at Colony Park. Visitors are encouraged to come out and see these beauties on parade prior to Saturday’s event.

On Saturday, awards will be given in multiple classes including classic and nouveau, as well as local and state travel awards for out-of-state entries.

Beautiful cars, beautiful fall day, the beautiful surroundings of Renaissance at Colony Park, where shopping and dining also make for a stimulating Saturday pastime. Be sure to check your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 12—and check your pulse after your first vintage Rolls Royce!
