JOIN RIDGELAND FOR BIKE YOUR PARK DAY RIDE ON SEPTEMBER 28
The Ridgeland Tourism Commission is inviting the public to join a Bike Your Park Day ride on September 28, 2019 – a worldwide event that encourages people to explore parks and public lands by bicycle on the same day. Bike Your Park Day 2019 begins at the Bill Waller Craft Center in Ridgeland at 7:00 a.m. Cyclists of all ages are invited to ride as few or as many miles as they choose before returning to the Craft Center for food, drinks, music, and bike demos. Bike Your Park Day does not require registration and is free and open to the public.
This is the fourth year Ridgeland has hosted Bike Your Park day on the Natchez Trace. This year, the ride includes a Family Five Mile Ride where families can ride five miles of the Parkway together. The Family Five Mile Ride will begin at the Craft Center at 8:30 a.m. Additionally, volunteers including Park Ranger Amy Genke will be on site to meet and greet cyclists and offer fun facts and information about the historic Natchez Trace Parkway.
In the past three years, over 35,000 people in all 50 states and over a dozen countries participated in Bike Your Park Day. Adventure Cycling Association, a nonprofit bicycling organization, coordinates the event.
